It’s such a shame :/
I’m actually excited about this. I love Baz Luhrmann’s “Romeo + Juliet” and “Moulin Rouge,” so I hope this won’t disappoint!! Mostly I just want May to be here. Ahora mismo.
I was super nervous when they announced Leo as Gatsby but it was by far the best choice for his character. Oh god it was so perfect. His tense-ness just played wonderfully into the character.
The visuals were stunning
as was the soundtrack (DUH)
and the death scenes were fucking incredible. Both of the them.
The movie should have ended like, 60 seconds earlier (you’ll know what I mean when I see it) but overall it was well done.
Carey Mulligan has had me since Sally Sparrow.
The Great Gatsby was pretty awesome, with a few exceptions - namely the too modern soundtrack, the whole institutionalized Nick Carraway thing, and the lack of Gatsby’s father.

A new vending machine has been released which can print any book within minutes.
The Espresso Book Machine has access to 500,000 different books - the same as 23.6 miles of shelf space - and can even churn out a fresh copy of Crime and Punishment in just nine minutes.
Pages are printed at a rate of over 100 per minute and are then pressed, glued and cut to produce a pristine book.
Users simply pick the book they would like on a screen and wait for it to be printed … it certainly is a novel way of getting a new book.
WHO WANTS TO ROAD TRIP WITH ME TO THIS VENDING MACHINE Y/Y?
I think Johannes Gutenberg’s mind would turn to mush and come out of his ears and eyes if he ever saw this.

I might just have died
They installed one of these in my local book store THE WEEK AFTER I MOVED AWAY.
I was using shots of the gold city from El Dorado the movie (for a painting featuring Alexander the Great looking over his conquered empire like a god->artistic message) and didn’t realise how similar the structure of the buildings were to the Persia empire in the Alexander movie until I looked back over it…
I just realised that since I’m doing a contest where you have to use recycled materials for my sewing project I don’t have to do fabric research beyond natural vs synthetic which is great because I HATE FABRIC RESEARCH.
